Anachronism?
If useful at all, hierarchies are designed for emergency circumstances where the situation is clear, usually dire, requires special knowledge and/or information held by one or only a few and a quick co-ordinated response. And a bad outcome otherwise. Since this requires accurate anticipation of the future at all stages -- which decays the further ahead you look -- clearly hierarchies have very limited usefulness which spoils rapidly. Thus, as Sufi traditions suggest, they should never be created as permanent -- and should be encouraged to decay rapidly. --L. Reichard White, Saturday, February 20, 2010 8:16 PM

Federal Reserve Operations Nut-shelled
"The Fed's "independence" means the banksters' freedom to take in $1 in deposits, set aside 3 cents in reserves, lend $1 at effective 33:1 leverage at a growth rate of 7-10%/yr. at a doubling time of 7-10 years, go broke once a decade, and have the US Treasury make them whole so they can do it all over again." --Hypocrite Bernanke and his Political Pandering; Bernanke Buys Votes

Banksters are depressing
According to Murray Rothbard of the Austrian School of Economics -- and thoroughly documented by him in A History of Money and Banking in the United States -- banking panics and the resultant depressions occurred often in the 19th century, but always because of the same factor: collapse of the credit part of the money supply which had been created by fractional-reserve lending. In other words, by de-facto bankster counterfeiting.
