"They hate us..." is propaganda. It's meant to induce fear of other cultures, to justify military attacks, foreign bases (to control by violent threats). It's a lie to justify continuing taxes that are supposed to be spent for defense. But against who exactly, for what aggression? That's "classified" - to protect the guilty.
