It's THE LAW - - -

* Kamin's 4th Law: Governments will grow until destroyed by war or revolution.

* Mangrum's Corollary: If not destroyed by war or revolution, governments will continue to grow until they crush the population which supports them.

Who dunnit?

Remember folks, when the stuff hits the fan, it wasn't your friends, neighbors, family or other citizens that caused the problems, it was The Government. --L. Reichard White, Monday, September 30, 2013 5:15 AM

What's the difference between governments & market-based organizations?

The key difference between private market-based institutions and government institutions is we have practical ways to control market-based institutions.  --L. Reichard White, July 23, 2013, 17:22:19

A little help please - - -

I heard yesterday that "There are some questions one just doesn't ask."  What are they so I can ask them?  --L. Reichard White, Sunday, June 16, 2013 2:48 PM

Time for Plan B?

The Constitution & Bill of Rights applies only to and limits government, those who are elected and swear an oath to uphold them, and those they hire to help them to do that job.  Unfortunately, we-the-people trusted those documents, the oaths, and the honesty of politicians to abide by those limits.  Clearly, that didn't work. -L. Are YOU in the majority?

"...the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, conducted Jan. 9-13 among 1,502 adults, finds that 53% think that the federal government threatens their own personal rights and freedoms" Majority Says the Federal Government Threatens Their Personal Rights | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press

What happened?

When I was growing up, hitmen, snipers and spies were bad guys -- and whistle-blowers and hackers were good guys. What happened? --L. Reichard White, December 20, 2012, 17:24:01

Who's government is it anyway?

Look folks, it is NOT "our" government. It is "THEIR" government -- unless you can afford to hire a lobbyist or make a huge campaign bribe. --L. Reichard White, Tuesday, December 04, 2012 3:41 PM

The wisdom of crowds??

Have YOU recovered yet?

I rediscovered I could learn on my own when I did my pilot ground school using a "programmed text" instead of an instructor. The main damage done to us by government-style education is it leads you to believe, mistakenly, that you need someone to tell you what to learn, when to learn and how to learn, and then insisting you haven't learned until they say so.

Have you recovered yet?

Why use cash?

Cash is safer. To rob you of cash, the robber has to confront you face-to-face or break into your house. And these days, you may be armed. But he can rob you of cash alternatives (credit, bank deposits, etc.) electronically without you even being aware of it. Further, cyber thieves can rob you not only of everything you have, but, by running up debts, money you haven't even earned yet. --L. Reichard White, June 8, 2012, 13:26:24

Orwellistan? Are we there yet mommy??

Well, are we??

Unfortunately the stuff below only starts with impeccable Democracy Now and from three nearly impeccable guests:
1. William Binney, an NSA whistle blower who worked as a manager there for more than 30 years,
2. Jacob Appelbaum, a TOR and privacy software designer and activist
3. Laura Poitras, an Oscar-nominated anti-war filmmaker intimidated by Uncle ~40 times because she is.

And another interview with Mr. Binney:

Don't even have an appropriate closing.  Maybe - - -

"Of course you're free. Now shut-up if you want to stay that way."

r.

P.S. Great weather!  How about those Cubbies!  I think I'll plant zucchinis again this year.  Do you guys like pizza as well as I do?

THE Common Enemy?

As Americans we must always remember that we all have a   common enemy, an enemy that is dangerous, powerful, and   relentless. I refer, of course, to the federal government.   --Columnist Dave Barry

The revolutionary truth - - -

Revolutionaries say revolution [is] a 'right and a duty' . . . .  until they get into power . . . then it's a Capital Crime. --Ronald Tonkyro, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 9:08 AM
